Go to bed.

Fall asleep before you feel hungry.  It's a great way to skip the stupid mind battles, like these:
  1. It's OK, I can always skip my breakfast. (Will you really? Even if you skip breakfast, you will probably end up having a big lunch and dinner)
  2. It's only 100 calories per pack. (Not a lot of people will stop right there)
  3. I am still thiner than my important partner. (Come on!)
  4. I swear I will hit the gym tomorrow. (This is like borrowing the calories you could burn from the future, and when you're really in the gym, you are gonna pay it back with interest. )
When we can't discipline ourselves, we tend to find excuses to forgive ourselves, then we fall into the circle of failure.  Eating is a nature thing, and it's pleasurable.  Don't let this cycle to turn eating into a bad thing.

One of my girl friends has read The Secret, it's a book about how to use positive thinking and action to make your wish come true. Try to look at a problem positively, and always find positive ways to solve the problem. Want an example?

You are siting on the couch watching a recorded cooking show, and you will to go to sleep in about 30 minutes. Instead of brushing your teeth, you're standing in front of the pantry, your stomach and your mind are battling each other. What to do?

  1. Look at your problem positively, in this case the problem is to manage your empty stomach. Think: ” Hey, feeling a little bit hungry is a good thing, it gives my body a chance to burn excess fat! Great! Working-out while I am asleep!”
  2. Positive ways to solve this problem. I will treat myself a healthy and fancy breakfast tomorrow morning, I might have some bacon too! And focusing on the benefits if you have your beauty sleep.
During the day, you can eat small portion of whatever whenever you are hungry. Starving ourselves when we really need the energy usually brings negative result.  You can't get good results from bad ideas.
